WHY WAS COMMANCHE project scrapped?
The Boeing/Sikorsky RAH-66 Comanche was an advanced U.S. Army military helicopter intended for the armed reconnaissance role, incorporating stealth technologies. It was also intended to designate targets for the AH-64 Apache. The RAH-66 program was canceled in 2004 before it was fielded.

What possible use could the Comanche have today. The job for which it was designed can be done by drones and satellites.

Re: WHY WAS COMMANCHE project scrapped?
Well, the original reason work started on the Comanche was to replace the Oh-58 Kiowa reconnaissance choppers. As mentioned ,it was also to act as a target designator for Apaches. However after 1995, the UAV technology developed much faster than that of Comanche and consequently UAV's could do all the roles that a comanche could. Remember the Comanche was designated ONLY as a reconnaissance and target designator. It was never designed to rescue stranded crews inside enemy lines.
Hence there was no need of the Comanche
