Which among the MRCA planes do you think IAF should go for?
Re: IAF MRCA Deal
I don't believe the stealth claims even for F-22 yet , let alone the conventional design Super Bug .
I support you when you say SH doesn't have a low RCS because it will end up carrying armaments and pods externally which increase its RCS. However F-22 Raptor has a very low RCS making it stealthy because of its planform alignment design and more over it carries all its weapons internally.

Re: IAF MRCA Deal
This is a good topic.
Why don't either of you create a topic on stealth plane?
Back on MMRCA.
There are a lot of speculations going on that the contender could be either EF Typhoon or F18 because the engine used by them could be the engine used for Tejas (LCA).
Here is some more info from Wikipedia.
Now if somebody is doing his math here, then look at the price of Euro-Fighter Typhoon.

Re: IAF MRCA Deal
Evry company is gonna highlight its plane. They are not gonna say that - Our plane is useless. Dont buy it.
Wht we need to luk at is wht is most suitable for us. Mooney ij impartant. Else evry1 would buy F22.

Re: IAF MRCA Deal
AFAIK the MRCA F-16 is given a designation as IN - Super Viper. Its basically a Blk-60 in different colour scheme. I find no reason to give it Blk-70 tag.

Re: IAF MRCA Deal
There is no update as such on internet about F16 block 70. The Block 60F16 which UAE has would be further upgraded in the F16IN. Lets see what we get. There seems to be no news what so ever on MMRCA deal.
The reports would be all held secret I am sure.

3D cockpit view of the F-16IN.
The application takes time to load, so one has to be patient.
Enjoy!

Re: IAF MRCA Deal
ACM says the FET will end by April 2010 and the govt will be informed. He also believes that the aircraft will enter service by 2013 so the decision should be taken by the third or fourth quarter.
